The depth of snow is 72 cm at Kamisatsunai, 71 cm at Hiroo, 63 cm at Taiki and 43 cm at Obihiro. Peak snow is from noon to afternoon on the 29th. On the 30th it will be cloudy and it will snow until dawn. A slightly strong wind of about 10 meters is expected to blow over most of the area around noon on the 30th.
All primary and secondary schools, Hiroo, Taiki, Nakasatsunai, Sarabetsu and Makubetsu-cho Churui, and four schools in Obihiro are closed. Six schools have advanced their time to leave school. Hiroo High School was closed for high school. Hiroo City stopped collecting garbage on the 29th.
In Hiroo City, residents were chased by shovels of snow in the morning. Nobuyoshi Suzuki (80) said: “I have been shoveling snow since early in the morning, but it will accumulate soon. I want it to settle quickly.”
