Earthquake Source: Northern Ibaraki Prefecture
Magnitude: 5.1

There is no need to worry about the tsunami caused by this earthquake.

According to preliminary analysis by the Institute of Science and Technology for Disaster Prevention, it appears to be a reverse fault type earthquake with a pressure axis in the west-northwest-east-southeast direction.

It is the first time in about two weeks that a seismic intensity 4 has been observed on the Kanto continent since the M4.6 earthquake that occurred in the southern part of Ibaraki prefecture on December 17.
