Central Hokkaido Pacific Coast, Aomori Pacific Coast, Iwate Prefecture, Miyagi Prefecture, Fukushima Prefecture

In the surrounding sea area, an M5.6 earthquake occurred off the coast of Iwate prefecture on Saturday the 12th of this month, and a seismic intensity of less than 5 was observed in Aomori prefecture.
According to preliminary analysis by the Institute of Science and Technology for Disaster Prevention, it appears to be a reverse fault type earthquake with a pressure axis in the west-northwest-east-southeast direction.
