Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) announced on October 8 the flagship “Ryzen 5000” series of desktop PCs for general gaming and media production users. If the company’s benchmark claim is true, just switch to the new “Zen 3” architecture without changing the basic specs like number of cores, total cache capacity or power envelope, and the new processor. it will significantly improve performance. It will come true.

The Ryzen 5000 will be the first CPU to use Zen 3. Zen 3 has been optimized based on the previous generation “Zen 2” architecture with a 7 nanometer manufacturing process, and the number of instruction executions (IPCs) per watch is “Ryzen”, which is pretty fast even if it isn’t. It is said to be about 19% better than the 3000 series. One of the main changes between generations is that the array design has changed from 4 cores to 8 cores, doubling the capacity of the L3 cache. In fact, more memory is placed closer to the CPU core, reducing overall latency, speeding up reactions to CPU-related operations.
The CPU that Zen 3 uses has also been improved by improving the efficiency of arithmetic operations and branch prediction. According to AMD, it offers a performance increase of 24% per watt, all available on the same motherboard. The base clock and the boost clock are almost the same as the previous generation. As far as I know, there do not seem to be any changes in the specifications related to the chipset, such as the maximum memory capacity and the number of PCI lanes 4.

The Ryzen 5000 series will be available on November 5.
AMD also briefly announced the long-awaited “Radeon RX 6000” graphics card that will be released on the 28th.
