ASUS JAPAN announced the third generation “ROG Phone 3” of gaming smartphones on September 23, and it will start shipping from September 26.
The ROG Phone 3 hasn’t changed much in design to keep accessories compatible with the “ROG Phone II”, but internally it has evolved significantly as a gaming smartphone for a win and as a terminal that can be used on a daily basis. There is.

ROG Phone 3 uses “Android 10 with ROG UI” as the operating system and “Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus 5G Mobile Platform” (8 cores, maximum 3.1 GHz) as SoC. According to ASUS JAPAN, this SoC has a 10% improvement in performance compared to the normal “Snapdragon 865”.
This machine has greatly improved cooling performance to maximize processing performance. We have recently developed an “Aero Active Cooler 3” cooling unit that uses a large heat sink that is 6 times larger than the ROG Phone II and achieves a maximum cooling performance of 4 degrees.
The conventional cooling unit expels the air drawn in from the rear through the side, but the AeroActive Cooler 3 has been redesigned so that the air directly hits the bottom of the rear of the main unit. You may be wondering how well the ROG Phone 3 will perform, but bear with us until the final benchmarking chapter.

The battery has a built-in 6000mAh capacity like the ROG Phone II. According to ASUS JAPAN, “PUBG” can be played for about 9.2 hours, “Asphalt 9” for about 9.6 hours, and “Call of Duty” for about 9.3 hours, but it’s moderate because the T masters get mad!
The size of the organic EL screen is 6.59 inches and the resolution is exactly the same as 2340 x 1080 dots. However, the ROG Phone 3’s refresh rate has improved from 120Hz to 144Hz, the touch sample rate has improved from 240Hz to 270Hz, and the touch latency has improved from 49ms to 25ms. If you buy ROG Phone 3, you can’t blame your device for losing.
On the other hand, the maximum brightness is 1000 cd / m2. It has acquired HDR10 and HDR10 + certification, and its color gamut is 113.3% compared to DCI-P3, 108.8% compared to NTSC, and 153.7% compared to sRGB. It also supports the playback of HDR content from Netflix, making it a perfect device for watching movies and dramas as well as games.
