Police and firefighters were called in the middle of a pandemic and troubled fire season to free a jackass that stuck itself to a Hollywood billboard.
Only in the movies, kids.
Or, in this case, in a real-life promo stunt to promote Gnarly, the new comedy special from Jackass star Steve-O, the previously mentioned carpet man.
In this latest incident, Steve-O and some assistants taped him to a billboard at the busy intersection of Cahuenga Boulevard and Yucca Street in Hollywood with several layers of black duct tape. The wrap covered him from chest to thigh, leaving him shirtless, barefoot but able to post socially on Instagram.
“I’m just now attached to a billboard,” Steve-O wrote on Instagram. “And wants to emphasize that a team of real professionals rigged everything safely. There’s zero chance I’ll fall, and it’s important to me that we do not waste valuable city resources here. I’m glad to just hang out. ”

The stunt was to “let the world know about this project that I worked so hard on,” he wrote, referring to Gnarly. However, he complained after 90 minutes of being hurt, and police came out to investigate the scene.
‘They say they’m not sure I’m committing crimes. I do not think so. I pay for the billboard, ”said Steve-O. “Hopefully no one will be overwhelmed.”
Eventually, firefighters arrived, responded to a call at 9:35 AM, and helped him relax and climb.

But absolutely, the fire department here has a lot of rigs, and it takes a lot of resources away from what we need to do – make people safe. ”
There were no charges against Steve-O for the stunt. The comedy special is available for streaming on Steve-O’s website.
