After Bosun Malia White reported the franchise’s longtime head stewardess for having unregistered Valium and a vape in her possession on the ship, Captain Sandy Yawn Ferrier resigned from The Wellington crew.

In an interview with Decider, Ferrier, 33, said she was disappointed by the way it all played out.

“You can see on my face when she opens that bathroom door,” she said. “My pants are undone. I’m going to the bathroom. I’m like, why would I play my medication? It would not have occurred to me to flush Valium because I do not think I’m doing anything wrong. It’s anti- Anxiety medication. It’s like, it’s five milligrams of Valium! It was just disappointing. “

Maritime law stipulates that crew members must check medication with the captain, and Ferrier acknowledges that she “made the mistake of not clearing it” with Yawn.

“It’s not something I hide,” she said. “It was not that I went through and I was, ‘Ooh, I have this Valium. I can not show it to anyone.’ For me it’s just anti-anxiety medication. I made the mistake of not deleting it when I brought it on the boat. Because I always had it, every year. It was just not a process that went through my mind. was my mistake. But yes, it was certainly not something I was trying to hide. “

Ferrier said the vape pen was CBD, and that she also used it for anxiety relief.

“When I travel, I check to see if CBD is legal in the country I am entering,” she said. “So yes, I had checked that CBD was legal in Spain, and that is it. Again, I really did not think there was anything. I did not know I was doing anything wrong.”

Looking back, Ferrier said she would have done things differently if given the chance.

“Of course I would have explained the medication when I went on board,” she said. “If I had known it would go that way, I probably would not have done it this season.”

And Ferrier, who earlier this summer announced the current season of Under blanket Mediterranean Sea will be her last, admitting that she is now “in a different place” in her life. (She is currently expecting her first child with boyfriend Josh.)

“For me, I was very different this season than the seasons,” she said. “My life is very different now. I think I’m very different when I’m single, and when I’m in a relationship. I did not go out and drink a lot. You see the whole season, there is not a single scene that I may get drunk. Because I did not get drunk! “

“And that’s not because of everything Josh says, it’s just for me,” she added. “As you can understand as someone with anxiety, I do not want to wake up the next morning and go, ‘I was drunk last night. What’s going to happen on TV? Shall I look like an idiot?’ “I’m in a different place in my life now. I think I was a lot more introverted. But I just wanted to do my job, earn my money and go home.”

Ferrier also called on White, 30, to use the word “drug” when discussing the situation. Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen earlier this month.

“It’s not a drug. It’s anti-anxiety medication,” she said.

“I think I’m just really disappointed because I feel like I’m being portrayed as one kind of drug addict or whatever you have,” she continued. “Which is just so sad, because there are so many people in the world who are suffering from mental illness. And it’s 2020. We should not make people feel any less when they take medication for mental illness. Or they should feel like they can not do a job, or they can not do what normal people can do. “

Op WWHL, White claimed she saw Ferrier take Valium in an attempt to get her fears under control after she had a panic attack over Chef Kiko’s departure.

“I remember the moment she asked for Valium it really struck me that those were the pills she was taking every night all season,” she said. “That then became a really serious thing for me.”

White also refused to host Andy Cohen that she reported Ferrier as revenge for her room situation.

“I already had my suitcase at that point, so, yes, it was because it was my duty,” she said. “I do not want to lose my license.”

Ferrier defends herself during the episode by tweeting a photo of the drugs.

“I love Malia’s arrangements,” she wrote. That’s prescribed Valium, CBD (which is legal in Spain), a lighter (not sure what this has to do with anything) and my passport holder … And for anyone interested in the recipe is on the other side of the box as shown … “

“She went into my cabin After we had a fight over cabin arrangements …” Ferrier added. “Then I went through my handbag and took a picture of my prescribed medication and legal CBD and sent it to Sandy.”
