The hope is that it works better than the one made by Pirellone for the flu vaccine: the campaign came to an abrupt halt after less than a month because the necessary doses to administer to the risk categories were not acquired.
“This is the symbolic beginning – Gallera confirmed – of a true vaccination campaign that will begin in the next few days according to the schedule established by the National Plan prepared by the extraordinary commissioner Arcuri, who is in charge of vaccinations throughout the country. Today, however, we want to send an important message to the public. It was true that, even symbolically and through the media, the launch was carried out in all the provinces ”.
The doses will be delivered to the Niguarda Hospital, stored in a cryogenic box, and then they will go to the other 11 provinces, including Bresciano. At the same time, all consumables, which are supplied by the commissioner, and protection devices will also be distributed. And to receive the vaccination first, in each province of the Region, will be the presidents of the orders of doctors and nurses, then the representatives of the social and health workers. Later it will be the turn of the general practitioners, emergency emergency personnel and those of the RSA.
The first Brescians to get vaccinated
The first to be vaccinated, presumably on Sunday afternoon, will be Ottavio Di Stefano, president of the Order of doctors, and Stefania Pace, president of the Nurses’ Order. In addition to them, a representative of the social and health workers and one of the service personnel will receive the vaccination at the Civil Hospital of Brescia.

When will ordinary people be vaccinated? The 4 phases
The second phase, as revealed at the press conference, provides for the vaccination of several categories (this will reach 15% of the population):
- ultra 60enni
- people with severe comorbidity, immunodeficiency and / or frailty
- groups at increased risk of serious illness or death;
- “high priority” teachers and school staff.
The third phase (for a cumulative population coverage of 50%) will be for residual teachers, workers in essential services, prisons and community places, people with moderate comorbidities of all ages. Fourth stage: rest of the population.
Deliveries every week
The deliveries of Pfizer vaccines – said Giacomo Lucchini, a reference for the vaccination campaign for Lombardy – are hypothesized every week, but it is information that may vary to better implement the vaccination plan. The hypothesis is to deliver doses of Pfizer directly to the centers between December 28 and January 4.
