the lunch of Christmas With relatives? Yes, as long as there are only two “other than family” guests. This is the new repeal introduced with the new “Christmas Decree”, approved by the executive a few hours ago. After a long tug-of-war with the Regions, the yellow-red government has succumbed to a relaxation of anti-contagion restrictions on the (now imminent) days of the Christmas holidays by granting “limited” family reunions. But let’s try to shed some light on situations common to dozens of Italians.
Take the case of a family unit made up of 4 people (husband, wife and two children). How many “seats” can be added? Can grandparents be invited?
Yes, but only two per family. The new exception provides for the possibility of receiving at home, even on days when Italy will be a “big red zone” (in the period from December 24 to 27, from January 31 to 3 and from January 5 and 6, 2021) , two people who do not live with minor children, any disabled or not self-sufficient relative who lives under the same roof. Obviously, it will be necessary to wear a mask and keep your distance, as far as possible.
If, on the contrary, the grandparents prefer to stay at home, will it be possible to have lunch with them or visit them to receive good wishes?
It depends on the age of the children. The exemption is based on displacement and, therefore, should apply to people who move from their home to that of a relative. Since only two people can travel to the red zone, not counting children under 14 years old and disabled people, if one or more children are at least 14 years old, it will be necessary to choose. In this case, only two people are allowed to move. So if a family of 4 with children over 14 wants to have Christmas lunch with two grandparents, the latter will have to move.
Can you invite friends or boyfriends to lunch?
Yes, in March, the exemption from circulating in the red zone affected family members, extending the interpretation of the term not only to family members but also to the so-called “stable affections.” The new rule does not refer to the bond between people, the proportion travel-related.
If two relatives who do not live together want to spend Christmas but live in different municipalities, can they meet?
Yes, derogation movements are allowed only once a day, between 5:00 and 22:00, at the borders of the entire region. These same rules are also valid for New Year’s Eve dinner and for all the days that Italy will be in the red zone. In any case, the period of 22.00 hours that marks the curfew must be respected.
