Bologna, October 13, 2020 – Today’s momentary truce, with clear skies over almost the entire region, had given us hope: but a new deterioration, already widely announced by forecast, looms on the horizon. That is why the experts from Arpae (Regional Agency for Prevention, Energy and Environment), together with Civil Protection, have issued a ‘yellow’ weather alert (ordinary criticality), valid from midnight today to the same time tomorrow, Wednesday October 14. The notice raises the level of attention “due to the hydraulic and hydrogeological criticality”, as regards possible thunderstorms, landslides and flooding of rivers and minor streams.
“On Wednesday,” the Arpae bulletin reads, “the unstable flows from the southwest, coming from the Tyrrhenian Sea, will cause a gradual worsening of the weather situation, with rain which, in the second part of the day, will tend to affect the entire regional territory. During the evening-night, the phenomena will intensify especially along the reliefs of the Apennines “.
What will the weather be like for the next few days?
Looking at the trend for the next few days, the rains seem determined not to abandon us: after another temporary pause on Thursday 15, Friday 16 will continue to be marked by marked variability, with rainfall mainly concentrated in the central-eastern sector of the region. Good news, however, for the weekend: the gradual increase in the pressure field will give long periods and maximum temperatures up to 18 degrees. The ideal climate to plan outings to discover the foliage, the autumn spectacle of nature that, in recent weeks, lights up in yellow and red.
