Lucia Azzolina in distress. Once again. In fact, it’s easy for multiple schools to decide not to reopen on September 14. School principals complain of various shortcomings. And there are only 5 days left until the fateful date. The Asociation directors would like to request the postponement of the start of the lessons. “It is clear that to reopen safely, you have to solve some problems”thinking about doing it on time is quite impossible. In all likelihood, the September 14 deadline will not be met everywhere. These days, many directors are emailing the first citizens of their cities to ask that the reopening be postponed until September 24.
President Antonello Giannelli explained that “The entire school staff is strongly committed to reopening the schools. As far as we know, the delivery of the single-seater benches, the only ones capable of guaranteeing distance, is seriously delayed. Two other important criticalities are those of the classrooms, because the local authorities have not found them everywhere, and the total number of staff, or rather of the teachers to be hired to ensure the service ”. He then concluded by emphasizing that it would be appropriate to assess any reasonable local differentiation, based on agreements between local authorities and school boards.
Each region can decide to reopen
In Lazio there are several school directors who are asking mayors to postpone the reopening of their schools. It will be up to the first citizens to decide what to do. Calabria, Puglia and Sardinia have independently decided to open on September 24, as in their own right. Abruzzo and Basilicata have also joined. The governor of Campania, Vincenzo De Luca, signed an ordinance two days ago that postpones the reopening of school structures, thus accepting the request of mayors and school unions.
As announced by the Ministry of Education, the date of September 14 was chosen last June, but individual regions still have the right to decide whether or not to postpone the start of lessons. There is no lack of structural problems and both the ministry and local authorities are accused. Based on what emerged, many positions have yet to be delivered. Also, there would be no teachers or classrooms available. Today, the Minister of Education Lucía Azzolina, during an information on the procedures to resume the school year on September 14, made it clear that “The majority-opposition party will not be played on September 14.” In this case, the majority would certainly be defeated.
