very close to 40 percent of the proportion of voters who, on Sunday, September 20, decided to go to the polls to participate in the referendum constitutional on the reform that foresees the cut in the number of parliamentarians (which in the Chamber would go from 630 to 400 while in the Senate it would fall from 315 to 200). The data, still partial, communicated by the Ministry of the Interior: when the data from 7,781 municipalities of the 7,903 arrived, the figure of 39.40%.

We remind you that this is a confirmatory referendum, for which it will not be necessary to reach a quorum (here we explain why). If today’s voting trend continues, it is very likely on Monday the threshold of 50 percent of voters is exceeded.

Whoever has yet to go to the polls, and is undecided about the vote to cast, will find here a summary of the reasons for yes, and here a summary of those for no.

In addition to the referendum, Italian citizens are called to the polls for regional elections (in Aosta Valley, Veneto, Liguria, Tuscany, Marche, Campania and Puglia: here the guide with all the candidates), municipal (more than a thousand Municipalities to vote: here they are) and supplementary (in Veneto and Sardinia). Participation figures for these consultations are shown below.
