A heinous and brutal murder that took place last night shortly after 10 at night in Piazza Fiume de San Giacomo di Veglia in the parking lot in front of the Banca Della Marca. According to an initial reconstruction of the incident, the 72-year-old would have arrived at the square around 10 p.m. and once he was out of the truck, the forty-year-old would have approached him. After a while a violent fight broke out between the two, during which the forty-year-old would have struck the seventy-two with a knife before leaving the square on foot. Also according to the reconstruction carried out by the investigators, the man in his forties would have arrived at the scene by car, a Fiat Punto with a Vicenza license plate, and then he would have left it parked near the church to walk away after the murder.
After the arrest, the man was immediately taken to the barracks for questioning. Two other people were heard with him because they were potentially informed of the events but were not related to the story. It could be two local residents, who may have heard or seen something of what happened in the square.
It is not clear what could have caused the murder, this will emerge from the investigations carried out by the carabinieri of the Vittorio Veneto company throughout the night. It is not excluded that it could also be an attempted theft.
The area was cordoned off for the findings of the coroner and the medical examination of the body of the seventy-two years, removed only late at night after the green light of the prosecutor.
