TUSCANY – In Tuscany there are 121,415 cases of positivity for the coronavirus, 498 more than yesterday. New cases are 0.4% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured grew by 0.3% and reached 107,674 (88.7% of all cases). The swabs made reached 1,898,439, 5,083 more than yesterday, of which 9.8% were positive. On the other hand, 1,963 subjects were analyzed today (excluding control swabs), of which 25.4% were positive. To these are added the 568 rapid antigenic swabs that are carried out today. The current positives are 10,021 today, + 1.9% compared to yesterday. The hospitalized are 964 (11 more than yesterday), of which 139 in intensive care (4 less).

Today there are 20 new deaths: 12 men and 8 women with an average age of 82.6 years.

These are the data – verified at 12 noon today based on requests from the National Civil Protection – related to the advance of the epidemic in the region.

The average age of the 498 cases at present is approximately 47 years (14% are under 20, 21% between 20 and 39, 36% between 40 and 59, 22% between 60 and 79, 7% are 80 years or plus).

It should be remembered that as of 06/24/2020, the Ministry of Health has modified the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated according to the province of notification but according to the province of residence or domicile.

The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. There are 33,785 cases in total to date in Florence (64 more than yesterday), 10,463 in Prato (25 more), 10,518 in Pistoia (25 more), 7,739 in Massa-Carrara (32 more), 12,703 in Lucca (73 more), 16,874 in Pisa (95 more), 8,767 in Livorno (63 more), 10,728 in Arezzo (54 more), 5,062 in Siena (54 more), 4,221 in Grosseto (13 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions.

There are currently 130 cases in central ASL, 247 in the northwest, and 121 in the southeast.

Tuscany ranks 12th in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 3,255 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average of around 3,528 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Prato with 4,060 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 4,027, Massa Carrara with 3,971, the lowest Siena with 1,894. In total, 9,057 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (174 more than yesterday, 2% more).

There are 17,252 (686 fewer than yesterday, less 3.8%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance because they have had contact with infected people (ASL Center 4,041, Northwest 9,532, Southeast 3,679). The people admitted to the beds dedicated to COVID patients today are a total of 964 (11 more than yesterday, more 1.2%), 139 in intensive care (4 less than yesterday, less 2.8%).

There are 107,674 people cured in total (293 more than yesterday, more 0.3%): 594 clinically cured people (43 more than yesterday, more 7.8%), that is, they became asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with Infection and 107,080 ( 250 more than yesterday, plus 0.2%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with negative swab.

Today there are 20 new deaths: 12 men and 8 women with an average age of 82.6 years. Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 2 in Florence, 5 in Prato, 2 in Pistoia, 2 in Massa-Carrara (67-year-old woman and 82-year-old man), 2 in Lucca, 5 in Pisa, 1 in Siena, 1 in Grosseto. It is reiterated that it will be the responsibility of the Higher Institute of Health to definitively attribute the deaths to the Coronavirus: in fact, many times they are people who already had concomitant pathologies.

3,720 have died since the beginning of the epidemic divided as follows: 1,255 in Florence, 254 in Prato, 278 in Pistoia, 389 in Massa Carrara, 348 in Lucca, 433 in Pisa, 269 in Livorno, 220 in Arezzo, 128 in Siena, 92 in Grosseto, 54 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 99.7 x 100,000 residents versus 123.6 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (199.6 x 100,000), Florence (124.1 x 100,000) and Pisa (103.3 x 100,000), the lowest in Grosseto (41.5 x 100,000).

THE SITUATION IN USL TNO HOSPITALS
Regarding hospitalizations for “Covid-19”, in the hospitals of the USL Toscana Northwest company there are a total of 286 (yesterday there were 277), of which 28 (the same as yesterday) in intensive care. In Livorno hospital 49 patients, 5 of them in intensive care. In Lucca hospital 48 patients, 4 of whom were in intensive care. 51 hospitalized in the Apuane hospital (+1 compared to yesterday), of which 12 in intensive care (stable). In the Versilia hospital 89 patients, 3 of them in intensive care. In the Pontedera hospital, 27 were hospitalized, of which 1 was in intensive care. In Cecina hospital 22 patients, 3 of them in intensive care.
