MASSA-CARRARA – In Tuscany there are 118,155 cases of positivity to the Coronavirus, 613 more than yesterday. New cases are 0.5% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured grew by 0.3% and reached 103,328 (87.5% of all cases). The swabs made reached 1,841,106, 11,029 more than yesterday, of which 5.6% were positive. On the other hand, 3,806 subjects evaluated today (excluding control swabs), of which 16.1% were positive. To these are added the 3,850 rapid antigenic swabs that are currently being made. The positives are currently 11,269 today, + 2.7% compared to yesterday. There are 1,009 hospitalized (40 less than yesterday), of which 166 in intensive care (5 more).
Today there are 6 new deaths: 5 men and a woman with an average age of 75.5 years. These are the data – verified at 12 noon today based on requests from the National Civil Protection – related to the advance of the epidemic in the region. The average age of 613 cases at present is approximately 46 years (12% are under 20, 24% between 20 and 39, 37% between 40 and 59, 20% between 60 and 79, 7% are 80 years or older ).

Today 242 cases have been found in the Central Local Health Authority, 274 in the Northwest, 97 in the Southeast. Tuscany ranks 11th in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 3,168 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 3,329 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Prato with 3,987 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,930, Massa Carrara with 3,882, and the lowest Siena with 1,790.
In total, 10,260 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (340 more than yesterday, 3.4% more). There are 21,481 (418 less than yesterday, less 1.9%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance for having had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 6,091, Northwest 11,546, Southeast 3,844). The people admitted to beds dedicated to covid today are a total of 1,009 (40 less than yesterday, minus 3.8%), 166 in intensive care (5 more than yesterday, more 3.1%). The total number of people cured is 103,328 (307 more than yesterday, plus 0.3%): 437 people clinically cured (48 more than yesterday, plus 12.3%), that is, they were asymptomatic after presenting associated clinical manifestations Infection and 102,891 ( 259 more than yesterday, plus 0.3%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with negative swab.
Unfortunately, today there are 6 new deaths: 5 men and a woman with an average age of 75.5 years. It is reiterated that in any case it will be the responsibility of the Higher Institute of Health to definitively attribute the deaths to the coronavirus: in fact they could be people who already had concomitant pathologies.
Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 95.4 x 100,000 residents versus 117.5 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (192.4 x 100 000), Florence (119.6 x 100 000) and Pisa (96.2 x 100 000), the lowest in Grosseto (39.7 x 100 000).

Regarding hospitalizations for covid-19, in the Northwest Tuscany Usl hospitals there are a total of 313 (yesterday there were 319), of which 39 (yesterday 36) in intensive care. In Livorno hospital 54 patients, of which 10 in intensive care. In Lucca hospital 52 patients, of which 9 in intensive care. 68 hospitalized in the Apuane hospital (stable compared to yesterday), of which 11 in intensive care (stable).
