One of the migrants fleeing the Villa Sikania reception center in Siculiana was beaten and died on State Highway 115. He is a 20-year-old Eritrean who arrived in Siculiana on 1 August. Three policemen who had already been transferred to the emergency room of the “San Giovanni di Dio” hospital in Agrigento were also injured after being run over by the Volkswagen Touareg. Two have suffered various injuries and bruises, while the third has a serious fracture and will have to undergo delicate surgery. The motorist was arrested – by the hypothesis of the crime of homicide in highway and flight of the driver. He is 34 years old from Realmonte.

Hell along Highway 115, at the entrance to Siculiana, broke out in the middle of the night. A group of migrants – after protesting for most of the afternoon and a score of them had also climbed onto the roof of the reception structure – managed to escape, reaching State Highway 115. To pursue them, try to block them and bring them back, the policemen who were on duty in Villa Sikania. However, the Volkswagen Touareg arrived on state highway 115. The traffic accident was consumed and the young Eritrean was left lifeless on the asphalt.

At dawn, the 34-year-old from Realmonte was arrested -for the hypothesis of the crime of homicide on the road and the driver’s flight-.
