Despite the confinement, punches and kicks among the people, the crazy traffic
A big fight between boys in the center, with scooters running, crazy traffic between horns and shouts, on Christmas Eve in total confinement: this is what happened last night in Piazza Trieste in Ercolano (Naples) a few hours after the traditional dinner. The scene was filmed with a smartphone and posted on Facebook pages, complete with outraged comments “look how they’re hitting” heard from a “This is Herculaneum” voice. In the images you can see children who, disregarding the anti-crowd rules, chase and fight between racing mopeds and parked cars until the arrival of the police.
“It’s a shame, four idiots have ruined the magic of Christmas. We will capture the images, trace them and punish them. What happened cannot be without guilt. The protagonists of those scenes of unprecedented brutality and violence are not good, but criminals who can’t get away with it. ” This is what the mayor of Ercolano (Naples), Ciro Buonajuto, has done, commenting on what happened last night in his city where a maxirissa took place in the center. “Those scenes are the farthest image we would like Herculaneum to represent – continues the mayor – In a city that leaves a past of organized crime, we cannot allow criminals to ruin the image of our Herculaneum. I trust the work of the police to identify the protagonists of this very serious act of violence. As a father I do not hide from you the great pain I felt. As a parent, I invite you all to a deep reflection. Children are our future. we must be an example and support them, but we also have the obligation to educate them to respect the rules and a healthy coexistence ”, concludes Ciro Buonajuto.
“They sent us a video, made by a citizen, showing a great fight starring in Herculaneum that took place, according to those who filmed the video, on Christmas Eve, in Piazza Trieste. An unworthy story, against any Christmas principle and, above all, against any anti-Covid legislation. How is it possible that, despite the red zone, there are all those people around? Why were there no police in the area? We ask that those responsible be fully identified and punished. “This is what it says Francesco Emilio Borrelli, Campania Regional Councilor for Green Europe, who received the video, is “various reports from the citizens of Herculaneum on the matter.”
