Last night, after 9:00 p.m. a man tried to commit suicide by jumping from the Adige river from the Ponte Pietra in Verona, Adige that in recent days has been flooded in several points and that was the scene of an episode that saw the intervention from the Minister of the Interior: a firefighter was dragged for about ten minutes, in an attempt to rescue a man who had thrown himself into the river with suicidal intent, who tried with all his might to free himself: the man actually persevered in his intention to get off life, also putting that of his savior at risk.
Downstream recovery
The firefighter, Danilo Marino, was found about 5 hours later in the valley: according to the reconstruction, the rope that kept him tied to the ground unhooked during the fight.
The team allowed the man to stay afloat in the rubble after more than 10 miles, leaving no trace of the suicide that was washed away.
