Linda Franzo managed to recover from the coronavirus after also surpassing the Spanish. And on January 2, in Caorle, she blew 107 candles, surrounded by the staff of the nursing home that welcomes her.
Born into a peasant family in Cortellazzo di Jesolo, Linda was soon orphaned by her father, who died during the First World War. She married very young, losing even her husband when she was only 22 years old: another tragedy of the war, this time the second world conflict, in which the man was killed.
Linda was already the mother of two children, two and four years old. Without a husband, she rolled up her sleeves by working as a handyman at the Carabinieri barracks in Caorle, before doing seasonal work and finally working as a cook. She managed to build a house on her own, raise her two children, and send them to school.
Invited since 2017 to the residential services center of the special company Don Moschetti, she has always been in good health. But in November, following an outbreak at the facility, it tested positive for Covid. But Linda also managed to survive the coronavirus, thus celebrating her 107th birthday.
Another over 100, Fiorina Fiorelli, also 107, was vaccinated against the disease in Lazio on the first day of the year.
