The Covid vaccine will be effective despite the English variant of SARS-Cov-2. Franco Locatelli, president of the Higher Health Council, is convinced of this SkyTg24, defined as “highly unlikely” that the new strain, also found in Italy, is resistant to incoming vaccines. Furthermore, according to Locatelli, there is no evidence of a correlation between the virus variant and the high number of infections and deaths from Covid-19 in our country. “We currently have no data to suggest this type of correlation. Locatelli then has paid out London of the accusations of lack of transparency, which came from many sides, including Walter Ricciardi, the consultant to Minister Roberto Speranza: “I do not think that a health institution like the British one would want to hide anything, it would be frankly surprising and I do not think it is a credible thesis. ” The president of the Higher Health Council praised the Italian handling of the emergency and described the decision taken by Minister Speranza to immediately suspend flights from the United Kingdom as “extraordinarily timely”.
