At 9:00 p.m. this afternoon, Sicily will have its doses of the Covid vaccine. They will arrive at the Boccadifalco airport in Palermo with a Civil Protection plane. Tomorrow, however, the first dose of the drug Biontech-Pfizer will be injected in pavilion 24 of the Civic hospital, which paid a very high price with 36 infected among staff and 28 deaths among patients. On the same day, at 3.30 pm, the vaccination will continue at the RSA in via La Loggia, also in Palermo.
In Palermo, in addition to the Civic colleagues, 150 health workers from the Covid del Cervello Hospital and Villa Sofía Hospital will also test the vaccine. The general management of the company has established that on December 28 and 29, starting at nine in the morning, at the facilities of the Ophthalmology operating complex of the Cto in Viale del Fante, in the first place, the employees who work in operating units for patients with Covid-19.
Initially, in Villa Sofía the doses will be administered only to 21 emergency physicians, the other 139 instead all belong to the brain structure reserved for those most seriously affected by the virus.
The V-day in Palermo, on the other hand, will take place tomorrow and in 3 days 150 doctors, nurses and operators of the Civic Hospital and Di Cristina will be vaccinated against the coronavirus. The first will be the head of emergencies Massimo Geraci, to follow four other doctors from the Covid pavilions, among them Vincenzo Mazzarese, until yesterday acting manager of the Resuscitation who became director.
The operations will be carried out in hall 24, where the new oncology center is located, which houses the two -70 degree refrigerators in which the bottles will be stored, each of which will be able to extract about six doses. Vaccinations related to the Di Cristina hospital, meanwhile, will be carried out at the former ludotec facilities.
