I steal tonight, in Manfredonia. The ‘Despar’ supermarket in via Rosati ended up in the sights of thieves. Two people in action: the robbers – both with distorted faces and, apparently, unarmed – broke into the business near closing time, threatening the cashier on duty to hand over the money present in the cash register.
In the excited phases of the robbery, there was also an attempt by one of the two criminals to hit the victim; a blow that fortunately the woman managed to avoid. He grabbed the money (the loot has yet to be quantified), the two fled on foot.
Investigations by the Sipontini carabinieri are ongoing into the incident, who have already acquired video surveillance footage of the commercial activity. After the coup, the two fled on foot, but the possible involvement of an accomplice, aboard a car, a short distance from the target of the robbery, has not been ruled out.
