A family living on the street and two companies (a Corato and a Tranese based in Corato) that shake hands with him. The story comes from Trani and concerns Mr. Domenico, his wife, and their 19-year-old daughter.
Their misfortune began twelve years ago, when they had to deal with the need to depend on social services due to financial difficulties. Twelve troubled years between houses, subsidies, b & bs, banks, stations, dormitories and foster homes. Mr. Domenico occasionally sells fish. “A couple of boxes, I’m not a big fishmonger, I do what I can” He says. He is a recipient of the income of the citizens: about 700 euros per month used until last month – according to what was counted – in part (500 euros) to pay the rent of the B&B and the rest to live the day.
Domenico and his family spent a week on the banks of Piazza Dante, in Trani, before finding refuge in the Caritas structure in Bisceglie, a guaranteed refuge until September 30.
In the square they had their “house”, four suitcases, some bags and a bucket for cleaning the home. Everything they had in the last bed and breakfast they lived in was on the street next to them. “We cannot get a job with a normal salary, which allows us to get a normal rent,” Domenico and his wife denounced.
After the publication of the article on TraniLive.it, however, something has moved. In addition to the roof proposed by Caritas in Bisceglie, two job offers have also arrived. One, for her daughter, in the offices of a company based in Corato. The other, for Mr. Domenico, as guardian of a car park, also in Corato. The work proposal to be made to Mimmo also includes a housing solution.
Two opportunities that could change the near future of this family, in the hope that they can be seized and exploited as a starting point to build a piece of dignity and redemption.
