Florence, September 20, 2020 – In Tuscany there are 13,812 cases of positivity for Coronavirus, 147 more than yesterday (52 identified in the course of tracking and 95 from detection activities). New cases are 1.1% more than the total of the previous day. Cured patients grew 0.2% and reached 9,704 (70.3% of all cases). The tests carried out reached 676,932, 8,036 more than yesterday. The positives are currently 2,956 today, + 4.6% compared to yesterday. There are 109 hospitalized (stable compared to yesterday), of which 23 are in intensive care (2 more). Today there are no new deaths. These are the data – verified at 12 noon today based on requests from the National Civil Protection – regarding the advance of the epidemic in the region.

The average age of 147 cases today is about 35 years (35% are under 26, 27% are between 26 and 40, 30% are between 41 and 65, 8% are over 65) and, in Regarding the clinical states, 69% were asymptomatic, 18% pauci-symptomatic.

Tuscany is confirmed in tenth place in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 370 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average of 491 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The reporting provinces with the highest rate are Massa Carrara with 757 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Lucca with 444, Florence with 400, Livorno with 204. In total, 2,847 people are isolated in their homes, as they present mild symptoms that do not they need hospital treatment or are asymptomatic (129 more than yesterday, 4.7% more). There are 4,948 (95 more than yesterday, plus 2%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance for having had contact with infected people (ASL Center 1,624, Northwest 2,336, Southeast 988). The people admitted to the beds dedicated to COVID patients today are a total of 109 (stable compared to yesterday), 23 in intensive care (2 more than yesterday, plus 9.5%). The total number of cured people is 9,704 (18 more than yesterday, plus 0.2%): 221 clinically cured people (stable compared to yesterday), that is, who were asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection and 9,483 (18 more compared to yesterday, plus 0.2%) declared completely cured, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.
No deaths
Today there are no new deaths. Therefore, there are 1,152 deaths since the beginning of the epidemic divided as follows: 418 in Florence, 53 in Prato, 81 in Pistoia, 177 in Massa Carrara, 148 in Lucca, 93 in Pisa, 65 in Livorno, 51 in Arezzo , 33 in Siena, 25 in Grosseto, 8 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region. The Tuscan crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 30.9 x 100,000 residents versus 59.1 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (90.8 x 100,000), Florence (41.3 x 100,000) and Lucca (38.2 x 100,000), the lowest in Grosseto (11.3 x 100,000).
