The police investigation began in October a year ago after the employee reported that she went to the Center Police Station to tell her story as a victim of business harassment. The woman had been working at the company for a year now and, due to the treatment she received in the office, she had even ended up in depression and had been forced to go through a period of illness. Exasperated by the situation, she decided to go to a refugee center and was therefore convinced to go to the police.
The employer had started monitoring her immediately. “He called me, he sent me messages at all hours of the day and night, including weekends,” the woman told the police, “if I didn’t respond quickly, he accused me of not being very helpful or even unfaithful.” At the office, the CEO had instructed another employee to monitor her and verify every move. “I am the owner of the company and you have to do what I tell you,” the managing director who ended up under house arrest told his employees.
The man, according to the accusations, had tried by all means to hinder the work of his employee: he wanted to discredit her in the eyes of his colleagues, and shortly before she became ill he had demoted her in her duties by assigning her a new position. This situation had caused the woman a strong state of anxiety with panic attacks and nocturnal insomnia and for this reason she had been forced to take a period of illness.
But in that period of stoppage, the investigators explain, the administrator has not stopped tormenting her: he sent her a dismissal letter for just cause for “the insubordination against her,” the letter reads. The measure was revoked by the managing director’s shareholder who was unaware of his colleague’s decision. But when the woman returned to the office, she found her desk without a PC and the office door without a handle.
Faced with this umpteenth humiliating act, she felt sick and required the intervention of 118. The administrator, however, tried to hinder the paramedics who wanted to help her and on that occasion the intervention of a flyer. On Wednesday, the judge’s decision ordering the CEO’s house arrest was carried out.
