It attracted children, from the age of 10, through “Fortnite”, one of the most popular video games of recent years. Then, once a friendship was formed with them, he passively induced them to receive images of child pornography. And later, after having convinced them that it was a natural practice, to produce photos and videos to send them by WhatsApp, Tik-Tok or Instagram.

This is what the officers of the Rivoli police station discovered, after a lengthy investigation, which began last July and ended yesterday, Friday, November 20, 2020, with the help of the Piedmont and Veneto postal police. The investigation was then coordinated by the Turin Juvenile Court Prosecutor’s Office.

A 17-year-old boy got into trouble and spent the whole day talking to several children. Always with the same modus operandi: the trust created through the game, strong phrases such as “I love you” or “I love you”, then with the first images you sent and then the next and last step, with videos and images produced by them victims.

Photos and videos produced in their rooms with the cell phones they studied during the first confinement: in the first moments, the images were made with the promise of money, then with real threats.

The parents of the children involved were unaware of what had been going on for months in their children’s bedrooms, who in the meantime were busy most of the day with electronic devices as well due to the ongoing shutdown.

The investigation was born after a mother, by chance, saw her son’s smartphone, where he captures a phrase with strange tones, certainly unusual for a conversation between children.

Intrigued, she opens the chat conversation and there a window opens to a world she would not have imagined. Report immediately to Rivoli police.

All child pornography material from the postal police is being examined by the judicial authorities.
