A 53-year-old businessman from Turin, Paolo Piccardo, owner of an advertising company, committed suicide yesterday afternoon, Sunday, December 6, 2020, by throwing himself into the Tiber River in Rome, on the Ponte Garibaldi. A friend of his, Andrea Pidò, who tried to save him in the water until the end, was rescued by firefighters, transported to the Fatebenefratelli hospital, and then discharged at night.
