Trump sets a trap for Biden

Two more months to open a foreign policy crisis. Suddenly out of Afghanistan, out of Iraq, out of everywhere (except the White House)

The American President, Donald Trump sets a trap for his successor Joe Biden. According to a draft order already circulating at the Pentagon on Monday, is about to order a massive withdrawal from Afghanistan, Iraq and Somalia. If Trump really did issue that order, it would put Biden in a difficult position. Because as of the inauguration on January 20, the possible scenarios would be only two. If the new Administration agrees to keep the number of soldiers so low, even if commanders on the ground advise against it, then it will also have to take responsibility for the potential crises that lie ahead. If, on the contrary, he decides to increase the number of troops again to have a margin of safety, then Biden will become “the president who brings us back to war.” It seems that you already hear the statements of political opponents, who would write themselves: Trump was the president who ended the wars, the Democrats are making them start again. The current contingent is about five thousand men, who do not fight but support the government in Kabul with their presence. They could become half in a few days. There is also the possibility that everything will turn out well, but given the precedents, relying on hope for better times is never a good foreign policy plan.
