The water comes from the hills and from a lifting tank. La Vitali: “The arrival of the prefabricated pieces for gallery number three has been suspended”
There are still problems for the Treviolo-Paladina, a section under construction of Bergamo’s southern ring road. For days, part of the work for the construction of the trench road, 1.5 kilometers out of the five total of the new road, has been blocked in Valbrembo. And the reason is that it was flooded due to the intense rains of the last days and the white and black waters (that is, the sewage) that seep from a Uniacque riser tank that overlooks the excavation. Vitali, the company based in Cisano that holds the important contract of 44 million euros, was thus forced to close some 300 meters of work, also for safety reasons: the banks of the excavation, in fact, were pregnant with water , are highly collapsible. This could have an impact on the completion schedule of a work that has already had several problems in the past: “The negative fact – says Vitali- is that the arrival of the prefabricated buildings in gallery number three was expected on the site. to be assembled by October 10. Now, obviously, we have had to suspend everything.
The province, which is the contractor for the work (financed entirely by Anas), is convinced, as stated by Pierluigi Assolari, manager of the Traffic, Construction and Transport area, that the delay “can be easily absorbed: meanwhile, Vitali is working on other parts of the site. ”However, to do this, the rain must stop and the part of the construction site in the flooded trenches must“ dry up. ”In recent days there have been several meetings, inspections, mail exchanges between the Province, Vitali, Uniacque and the construction management. A solution has been found, but it can only be put into practice at the beginning of next week when the weather forecast gives good weather. Vitali will be asked to pump the water that is causing the flood and discharge it into a special box connected, exceptionally, to a point further downstream of the sewage system managed by Uniacque which will then be disposed of Do everything: “This obviously – explains Assolari- will imply additional costs that will be absorbed in part by the Province and in part by Uniacque responsible for the lifting tank from where the leak occurred.” Tank that the management company of the integral water service, as communicated to Via Tasso, this week proceeded to seal and on which more controls are being carried out to avoid the risk of new leaks: “However, it is evident – says the technical director of the Stefano Sebastio company – that a large part of the water that flooded the work is of pluvial origin and comes from the nearby mountainous area ».
In the same vein, President Paolo Franco, according to whom “Our contribution to the enlargement on Tuesday was marginal. And on Wednesday morning we fixed it, except for a bottom leak. That water comes from the entire drainage basin. It already existed in part before the heavy rains because it then increased. The hydraulic area is very critical: in fact there is an old regulation study of the recovery consortium that foresaw a rolling basin at that point ». For Vitali, however, much of the problem would have been solved “if, as we originally requested, the tank had moved as it was done with the other interferences.” However, it is of interest to all parties involved now that this crucial part of the Treviolo-Paladin work
