The municipalities of Trentino with a presence of more than 3% of the infected population will become the red zone. The squeeze will come with the new ordinance that today the president of the province, Maurizio Fugatti, could sign.
In addition, as it appears, anti-assembly measures could also be adopted that largely follow the provisions of agreed ordinances of Veneto, Emilia Romagna and Friuli, effective as of tomorrow, to stop the gatherings and cool the contagion curve, hoping to avoid the passage from the yellow to the red zone. Therefore, walk and run only outside of very crowded places, limitations to commercial openings on holidays, more “protected” ways of consuming in bars and restaurants. But the confirmation will come only tonight.
But what are the effects of the possible transition of a municipality from yellow to red? In the first place, the limitation to movements: any movement will be prohibited, both within the same municipality and towards neighboring municipalities, with the exception of “departures” motivated by work, need or health needs.
Retail commercial activity will be suspended, except shops that sell food or essential items, pharmacies and kiosks, while bars and restaurants must close at 3:00 p.m. Fugatti himself asked the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, to endorse the request: the negotiation is open. Nothing will change for the rest of the municipalities, at least for the moment: the Trentino area is still the yellow zone according to national parameters.
At this time, the area of Ticino is particularly observed, where the municipal red zone could be the first to take off.
The new ordinance will be discussed today in the provincial council and then issued.
With the establishment of “local” red zones, many things will change in many towns in the province. But what could change for all those who have to – or want – to move outside the borders of Trentino? If the red zone of South Tyrol has been a reality for a few days, the passage from Veneto to the orange belt, for example, seems to be upon us.
So be careful: also because the orange band is much more similar to the red one, in terms of restrictions, than the yellow one. It would no longer be possible, for example, to enter or exit the orange areas except for proven reasons. Workers, think for example, but not only of the residents of Valsugana or Primiero, who cross the border every day to get to their place of work, must have a self-certification when passing the Veneto in the orange band, as well as for travel related. for reasons of health or other needs, the existence of which should be demonstrated without delay in case of checks.
What already happens when moving between Trentino and Alto Adige or between Trentino and Lombardy: the red zone -in terms of movement- has the same limitations as the orange one. Also with regard to mobility from a municipality other than that of residence or domicile, which is prohibited except for valid and justified reasons.
Limitations that should be taken into account not only looking at the territories that surround Trentino, but also in the face of a possible transition from the yellow to the orange zone of the same provincial territory. The approval of the ordinance that was announced yesterday by the president of the province Maurizio Fugatti aims to delay this eventuality as much as possible, but it is not necessarily enough given the numbers that are unfortunately characterizing the trend of infections also in Trentino.
Beyond the limitations related to the movement, the passage in the orange strip would also imply the total closure to the public of bars and restaurants, which could only offer take away food.
