On the morning of this Monday, the Council of Ministers approved a new decree regarding the coronavirus emergency that establishes that travel between regions will continue to be prohibited until March 27, regardless of the color assigned to the region. Compared with current regulations, it is also foreseen that in the red zone areas it will be forbidden to visit family and friends in private homes, so the “visitation exemption” will no longer apply: trips to homes other than one’s own . Own in the red area will be allowed only for reasons of work, health and need. The decree has not yet been published in the Official Gazette.

Movement between regions is still allowed only for proven reasons of work, health or need.

The “visitation exemption” will continue to be valid in the regions of the yellow zone for movements within the region, and in those of the orange zone for movements within their own municipality. The “exception” provides for the possibility of traveling once a day, from 5 am to 10 pm, to visit a single home (of any person, friends or relatives); On this route there may be a maximum of two, possibly accompanied by minors under 14, disabled or not self-sufficient without restriction of number.

Currently, most of the Italian regions are in the yellow zone. Since Sunday, Campania, Molise and Emilia-Romagna have moved into the orange zone, joining Umbria, Abruzzo, Tuscany, Liguria and the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano. There are no regions completely in the red zone, but there are many territories subject to the red zone rules in various regions.
