It had to be a dive, like many, in the splendid sea of Ustica. Instead, for Claudio Benedetti, a well-known family doctor in Ravenna, it was the last. The news is collected in the pages of the local Chronicle of the Resto del Carlino, today October 15.
Benedetti, who has always been a lover of the sport, was part of a group of diving enthusiasts and yesterday morning, while in the water, he suffered a fatal illness. One of the first people to help the doctor was Roberto Plazzi, Benedetti’s cousin and a well-known orthopedist from Ravenna who recounted what happened.
Now we will have to wait for the result of the autopsy ordered by the Sicilian magistrate on duty to definitively clarify the causes of death. Today in Palermo, where the body of the sports-loving doctor was transferred, his wife Rita and daughter Sara are expected.
