According to the researchers reconstructing, at 3.30 on September 7, the minors called 118 reporting that they had suffered sexual violence by a group of boys, violence that occurred around 12.30 a.m. in Marconia, Pisticci village, in the garden of a villa where a private party was held. After being visited and transferred to the hospital, the minors, who did not understand the Italian language, were examined in a “protected” manner by researchers and psychologists and, with a precise reconstruction of the events, said that shortly after arriving at the party they had been approached by two of the suspects, whom they had never seen before. They, at first, managed to establish a relationship of friendship with the minors, robbing them of their trust. Later, also taking advantage of the altered mental state of the girls, due to alcohol intake, other participants of the party approached them. One of them forcefully pushed one of the two minors into a dark area at the back of the village, followed by the other three and the other girl. Once in a camp, two different sexual acts of violence were perpetrated against minors, both by the four mentioned above, as well as by 4 other subjects, three of whom, at this time, are under investigation in a state of freedom. The violence continued for about 15 minutes, until the group of 8 subjects left the place followed, after a few minutes, by the minors. As part of the investigations, several people informed about the events were listened to and the images of the surveillance cameras of the village were analyzed, which framed the phases immediately before and immediately after the sexual violence, thus providing undoubted feedback to the victims. stories of the victims. Important evidence, in support of what was declared by the girls, was found in the technical surveys carried out by the Provincial Cabinet of Scientific Police. In addition, the prosecutor in charge of the investigations proceeded to question one of the suspects, who provided useful elements for the reconstruction of the events and the identification of the other authors.
