Nairo Quintana is among the losers of the fifteenth stage of Tour de France 2020. The captain of the Arkéa – Samsic reached the finish line atop the Grand Colombier with a delay of 3’50 ”from the winner Tadej pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), thus losing ground in the general classification where it currently occupies the ninth position. The Colombian climber was in precarious conditions, still suffering the aftermath of Friday’s fall. Certainly the time lost today seems to preclude any ambition for the podium, unless he makes something up in the last week.

I knew it would be difficult to resist this stage with all the difficulties up to the top of the Grand-Colombier. I tried to do it, but the second crash I had in this Tour de France at the Puy-Mary stage was hard because we were going very fast – explained the Colombian – it caused me a lot of pain. I thought I could do it, but in the end a fall is still a fall, it is with pride and heart that I climbed to the top of the Grand-Colombier. Now I will try to recover and finish this Tour in a good position. The work of the whole team was fundamental to be able to keep up with the race, I want to thank everyone because without my teammates and without Warren I could have lost much more time at the end of this stage ”.
