The commitment of men and vehicles continues to try to free streets and sidewalks from the extraordinary snowfall that covered the city during the night and this morning. This is the “fastest” snowfall in the last 100 years, with more than half a meter of snow falling in just over twelve hours.
136 vehicles plus about forty shovels divided into teams are carrying out the “snow plan” that saw the vehicles start this morning from 5.30 in the morning from the suburbs and then descend to the bottom of the valley. Beginning at 1 pm, however, pedestrian traffic was cleared with the “mini blades” and shovels. However, despite the efforts made and the spread of salt, the invitation, especially for the elderly, is to stay home because there is a risk of falls. The area outside the BLM group arena for pass-through buffers has also been cleared to prevent service outages.
Starting tomorrow, in support of the “machine” set up by the Administration, the city’s scout groups also went out to the field: those who have difficulties for all services related to basic needs (delivery of purchases and medicines to address, listening and orientation or also to remove the snow) you can contact your own constituency who will put you in touch with the group of explorers in the area. The usual “Pronto PIA” number 800 – 292121 is also active for the elderly.
The volunteer firefighters, on the other hand, with their entire network of vehicles and men, will give their contribution between tonight and tomorrow according to a plan and with tasks defined and coordinated by the Administration.
Tomorrow morning at 4 in the morning an extraordinary salting will be carried out and the demanding task of removing the snow will begin, which has currently moved to the side of roads and sidewalks to allow passage.
