Three Regions Still at Risk for Christmas: Here Are Which ones

[ad_1]

By three regions of Italy the situation in view of the Christmas remains critical and there is a real risk that the Government don’t loosen restrictions as planned in the rest of Italy.

As we have explained to you several times, the Conte government’s plan is clear: provide for others two weeks of restrictions to later grant greater freedom of movement to citizens. The objective is to reach December 3, when there will be the approval of a new DPCM, with all of Italy out of the red zone to allow store reopening, as well as Pub me restaurants, for the Christmas period.

But there could be impediments to the implementation of this plan: there are Regions, in fact, in which the situation is still critical enough to suggest a restriction extension beyond the date of December 3. And in that case, the Christmas celebrations could really be in jeopardy.

What are the regions where Christmas is at risk?

The national Rt index is at1.18: the goal is to do it down to 1 in all Italy, to have all regions in the yellow zone – or at most orange – during the Christmas holidays. There are two fundamental conditions for this to happen: on the one hand, thedecrease in Covid infections and on the other the rigidity of the health system.

And if on the one hand the Regions like Lombardy me Piedmont are meeting expectations, so much so that you imagine a ‘another week of restrictions and then leave the red zone as of December 27, there are others who are not meeting expectations. Yesterday, the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, signed the two-week extension of the red zone in Lombardy, Piedmont, Calabria and Valle d’Aosta: however, as planned, while Lombardy and Piedmont could anticipate the exit of this zone already on November 27 – with the possibility that on December 3 they will even be in the yellow zone – the other two Regions run the risk of staying there for a long time.

Calabria me Aosta Valley, in fact, they are still at a critical moment and if there is no change in the next few weeks it is very likely to be a Christmas made of restrictions. And be careful, because the Puglia. Already yesterday, in fact, it was running the risk of becoming the red zone given the worsening of the data in recent weeks: it could be there in a few days and in that case Stay at least two weeks.

In the red zones, the government will not relax measures

Even if the goal declared by the Government is loosen restrictions you cannot ignore the level of danger. With all the good will, indeed, it seems unthinkable in the red zones a reopening of bars and restaurants, as in the executive’s plans for Christmas.

They also have a hard time coming remove restrictions to travel within the Regions, while you might still decide to allow the store reopening (Although the impact this would have on travel should not be underestimated).

Aosta Valley, Puglia me Calabria, therefore, really risk living a Natale locked up: an eventuality that the Government would like to avoid at all costs, but that it will still have to give in to data to preserve the health of citizens.
