An explosion occurred shortly after 3:00 p.m. today at a fireworks factory in Casalbordino, in the province of Chieti. According to initial information from firefighters, who are already at the scene, there are three dead. The factory involved a company in Contrada Termini: it is Esplodenti Sabino, which also uses powder from recovered bombs in recovery operations carried out by bomb squadrons. Explosion apparently has about a hundred employees. Immediately after the outbreak, a fire broke out: due to the risk of further explosions, the Adriatic railway was interrupted between Fossacesia and the port of Vasto and traffic is blocked on state highway 16. A section of state highway is also closed from the Adriatic. The mayor of Casalbordino (Chieti) Filippo Marinucci confirmed the death of three people.
