The Foggian Society also pollutes and distorts the world of horse racing, dominating Castelluccio dei Sauri. There are two controversial cases: in the first, against a lost bet in a horse race, a sum of money is extorted from a rider as compensation; in the second, two other teammates are threatened in an attempt to pilot a race.
This is clear from the 232 pages of the order of the operation ‘Decimabis’, which in the early morning of today led to the arrest of 40 people, belonging to or close to the three batteries of the Foggiana Society.
Charges 7 and 8 of the document-monstre refer to the equestrian sector, among the 14 contested extortion behaviors.
In particular, the document says, Francesco Tizzano allegedly “forced, through death threats, a Foggia rider to pay him a bribe of 2 miles per euro (corresponding to a loss resulting from an original investment of 5,000 euros to conduct a race of horses, for which a partial recovery of 3 thousand was possible) “.
“I will break the horns of you and this Maximin “, the threat. “I come to Foggia and I come to find you. We took three thousand euros, we lost two thousand euros in five! I made them hunt for money, I said you hunt for money, jockey. You give me the money and that cuckold bastard son “. Still: “I said I have to kill you, you have to bring me the money. And now, starting next time, do what I tell you … so now I understand the system.
Even so, always in Castelluccio dei Sauri the extortion attempt against two other horsemen is recorded. Crime is once again questioned in Tizzano, this time with Francesco Pesante, Emilio Ivan D’Amato and Marco Gelormini. The four supposedly, in competition with each other, “launched suitable acts directed unequivocally to force, by means of threats, two riders who were preparing to compete in the race of the ‘Gubbio Prize’ at the Castelluccio dei Sauri racecourse, not to reach the first three positions of the race, thus obtaining an unfair benefit (consisting of the illicit receipt of the prizes corresponding to the bets placed) with relative damage to the offended, not doing so for reasons beyond their control, in particular for non-compliance due to part of the victims, who reported the incident to the authorities ”.
The threat, the document reads, consisted of “having represented immediate violent retaliation to the victims if they did not submit to what they imposed.”
The testimony of one of the victims: “They threatened me and told me that if I reached the finish line they would not let me get home. Faced with my grievances and my attempts to make him understand that I could not submit to his threats, both of them reacted by starting to shake me and showing aggressiveness, raising their voices and repeating the threats.”.
Hard nose, intimidation of his colleague: “You don’t have to get to one of the top three positions because this is our home. “
