Those who choose not to get vaccinated against the coronavirus will have to pay for the treatment out of their own pocket if they become ill from Covid. A proposal that will bring with it what could soon come into force in the republic of San Marino.
The San Marino government is considering Secretary of State Roberto Ciavatta’s proposal. The small republic has already had legislation dedicated to non-vaxes for some time: San Marino’s medical care for the citizens of Titano is completely free, but the San Marino legal system establishes that parents of unvaccinated children must hire damage insurance against third parties.
Therefore, even for Covid, the solution could be that those who do not want to undergo the vaccine, free but not compulsory, can be charged for the costs of the treatments, which especially in the most serious cases are not negligible.
