The numbers also for this year tell us all the drama and transversality of the phenomenon of violence against women In our country. In difficult months that have definitively rent the veil of all our weaknesses, violence against women is confirmed as an emergency that requires an urgent and shared response. Twenty-five years after the Beijing Conference we remember this year, much progress has been made, but there are still several obstacles to overcome.

And the action on which all Institutions have the duty to commit is clear: to support and strengthen the networks of communities that have their point of support in the centers, shelters, associations and security agencies against violence, and even more courage to the women that the country is next to them, that they are not alone. May they escape violence and may there be a whole community ready to support and accompany them on this path of freedom.
These months have clearly told us that requests for help are increasing and the number of public services against violence and stalking, 1,522, is increasingly widespread and is seen as a support tool for women.
In this complex moment, I have seen an increase in awareness of the fight against violence as a social responsibility, it is something very important. For institutions, a key issue on this path is ensuring that anti-violence centers and shelters receive the resources they need to carry out their action effectively. To be successful in this difficult challenge, it is necessary for all institutions, at all levels, to make it a concrete priority, from programming to the provision of resources in a short time and the monitoring of actions.
However, it is clear that the scenario will only change when violence is definitely repudiated in the public consciousness. There is a language problem formed by stereotypes that should not be underestimated and that, unfortunately, must still be unhinged. We often read the way violence is recounted, unfortunately it is a way that seeks to mitigate the circumstances or proposes them in situations that are not the correct ones. Because violence is never okay. Because there is never a justification for violence. We need the commitment of everyone, with all efforts.
I am very grateful to the world of sport that this year has contributed enormously to launching a strong message against violence against women, from the FIGC and its president Gravina to the technical commissioner Roberto Mancini, to our entire national soccer team and to the league of The AR Series They gave an important signal that reminds us today, November 25, that winning the match against violence is possible, if we join forces and put all the energy we have on the field.
May this International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women be an unprecedented moment for the commitment of the entire country. For all the women who have lost their lives, for all those who still do not find the strength to leave that door, for Elena, Diego, Aurora, Alessandro, those children who have paid with their own lives, for those who are suffering in his loneliness. For all women and for all children, because starting over is possible. Because you can liberate.
