Police arrested a 26-year-old boy and a 32-year-old man on the execution of a protective custody order, charged with two assaults that took place in rapid sequence on July 25. The first robbery, the consummate one, took place in Piazza Croce dei Vespri, while the second vanished only thanks to the disposition of a forty-year-old man, who managed to escape after the first threats.
Once the two reports were received, the agents began the investigations assuming that between the two episodes – due to the circumstances of time and place as well as some similarities in the dynamics – there was a connection. The images recorded by the many cameras in the area gave the police a hand. Analysis of the videos allowed investigators to reconstruct the escape routes of the criminals from both robberies, namely via Giovanni da Procida and via Alessandro Paternostro.
