Cuneo’s employee (Camilla Sismondo, 26) was found dead recently, missing since Saturday afternoon in the mountains of Limone, in the area of Rocca dell’Abisso (2,755 meters above sea level). The searches involved dozens of firefighters, mountain rescuers, financial police, dog teams, helicopters and drones. The dog that was with her also died.
According to the first reconstructions, it would have sunk into a hundred meter crevasse, from a rock jump, losing his life instantly. When the fog fell, he probably wouldn’t have realized there was a cliff next to the road. It happened in the Rocca dell’Abisso, about 2400 meters above sea level: it fell from the winter road that connects the Rocca with Limonetto.
The body of the employee was found near the Abyss Lake by a team on the ground made up of technicians from the Piedmontese Alpine and Speleological Rescue and by members of the Alpine Rescue of the Guardia di Finanza, the Firefighters and the Carabinieri, committed to beating the slopes at foot. The fire helicopter “Drago 55” proceeds to recover the body.
The deceased young woman, who was an only child, had graduated in Economic and Business Sciences, Marketing and Strategy in Cuneo.
