(ANSA) – ROME, SEPTEMBER 08 – Three volunteers linked to the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny fell ill after a mysterious attack with an unknown substance in the office where they worked in Novosibirsk, Siberia. According to witnesses, two men in hooded sweatshirts with masks entered the headquarters of the ‘Coalition Novosibirsk 2020’ and threw inside a bottle of unspecified yellow liquid with a pungent odor. The three volunteers who became ill – Olga Guseva, director of the Navalny project in Novosibirsk, told CNN “they felt sick and had dizziness, seizures and could not breathe.”

Of the two masked attackers, Guseva added, “one held the door, the other threw the bottle with the liquid on the ground,” where there were about fifty people at the time.

Russian police say the bottle dumped at the Navalny supporters’ headquarters in Novosibirsk that sickened three volunteers contained a drug called Dorogov, used in veterinary medicine as an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory. This was stated by the head of the local office in Navalny, Serghiei Boiko (ANSA).
