Theft of oranges in San Sperate, thieves screwed up by photo traps

It is not easy for the robbed but not easy for the thieves. Technology upsets the balance even for an activity that is among the oldest in the world. Some time ago, a San Sperate citrus grower went to the local police station. The commercial situation in that as in other sectors is not optimal. And if you also bring in some characters to take the seasonal harvest at night, you really won’t be able to live anymore.

The carabinieri then suggested a remedy that would have allowed them to proceed to identify the criminals with a high probability of success.

The now banal trick is that of “photo-traps”. Small instruments that can be placed in the most anonymous trees, powered by batteries, take clear photos even in the dark and give no escape. Just the movement of something and they go, silent and inexorable. Thus, two old acquaintances of the carabinieri, two men aged 47 and 39 respectively, both from San Sperate, fell into the trap. If they had used the masks it would have been more difficult to recognize them, but with their faces uncovered, those photos taken treacherously nailed them to their responsibilities. Tonight they made a shipment of boxes of oranges worth 250 euros, to be resold in who knows what commercial site. The military did not need anyone’s advice to recognize them. They were reported for aggravated theft to the Prosecutor of the Court of Cagliari. They will have a test, and now for the farmer perhaps the nightmare is over.
