Florence, September 27, 2020 – A rainy Sunday, which from the southern areas will extend throughout the afternoon to the rest of the Tuscany. Thus, the Operations Room of the Regional Civil Protection has extended the yellow code issued on Saturday to almost all of Tuscany, from 3 pm today until noon on Monday, September 28. Only the Lunigiana, the Garfagnana and the northern stretch of the coast are outside the green code.
The risk is mainly hydrogeological and hydraulic of the smaller network, that is, landslides and floods, due to the soils soaked by the rains of the last days and the already loaded waterways. But there is also the risk of temporary strong, expected in the areas closest to the mouth of the Arno, in the Archipelago and the Argentario, along practically the entire coast, and inland in the southernmost part of the province of Pisa, in the metalliferous hills and in the Grosseto area: particularly intense but locally also persistent and accompanied by hailstorms or gusts of wind.
On Monday, residual instability is expected on the south-central coast and the islands, where local storms, even strong ones, are not excluded.
