The summer season ends early: storms are coming and temperatures drop dramatically

Liguria. Summer is winding down and there could be a long and early rainy season on the doorstep, expected to start next week.

The new meteorological scenario derives from the collision of hot and cold masses, a first cyclonic vortex that will “bounce” within the Mediterranean, generating even intense storms in almost all parts of our country, including Liguria and Savona.

And the first walk will be only for our region, which in recent days has been able to savor the power of summer storms, which, in addition to the classic “refreshment”, have reminded us of the speed of our reservoirs and their potential.

The forecast models, in fact, follow the genesis of a probable great Atlantic cyclone that is about to cross the extreme north of Europe, with passages from Iceland to the Baltic, and with some probable appearance, although peripheral, in the north of Scotland . To the south, the Azores anticyclone, which habitually “blocks the passage” of the Mediterranean area on the depression fronts, could be dragged further north, leaving an ebb passage open to some low pressure peaks, which could lead to collisions with cold currents. Atlantic with the heat of the Mediterranean, a sea that occurs with summer temperatures.

From the intersection of these factors, a low-pressure vortex could get caught between a “corona” of other pressure, bouncing here and there in the Mediterranean area, creating some concern for any localized but potentially intense phenomena. Monday, a forecast that will obviously be confirmed in the coming days, could be a day of heavy rain in Genoa and the Tigullio, with a rapid cold front that will cross our region and then discharge beyond the Apennines. Apart from the rain, there will be days of strong thermal decline, with a summer that could close, therefore, a couple of weeks before. It’s hard to say what fall could be, but if a good day starts in the morning …
