There are no signs of a decrease in the contagion curve in Campania: in the last 24 hours, according to the Crisis Unit, 4,309 new cases, compared to 22,696 swabs tested. The situation of the hospitals is also worrying, which are beginning to have problems due to the large number of Covid patients in the area: for this reason, the local health authorities of Campania are trying to find solutions that can increase the number of beds for Covid hospitalizations, converting hospitals – this is the case of San Giovanni Bosco in Naples, which will have 40 places of hospitalization for those who contracted the virus – or by installing tensioned structures, as happened with Cardarelli and as will happen with the hospitals of Aversa and Marcianise, in the province of Caserta. .

Crowd on the Naples waterfront despite the many Covid cases

Naples and its metropolitan area, in terms of size and population density, are the most affected by this second wave of coronavirus emergency. However, yesterday Saturday, November 8, the Lungomare di Napoli appeared very crowded: thousands of people walking or in the outdoor areas of the restaurants located in the pedestrian zone. Campania was considered a yellow zone, of moderate risk, but President De Luca still invited mayors to close the places where there is a greater possibility of meetings; Mayor De Magistris, however, reiterated his desire not to close the city’s boardwalk, except for new indications from the Government.

Campania yellow zone, but schools remain closed

Although Campania has been declared a yellow zone, De Luca has decided to keep the schools in the area closed, again provoking protests from students and teachers. The Governor of Campania also confirmed the ban on interprovincial travel without a valid reason (health, study, work).
