the reservation date for people over 65

Milanese people over 65 will be able to reserve flu vaccines starting November 18. This was revealed by Roberto Carlo Rossi, president of the Order of Doctors of Milan, speaking of an email from the ATS. Those over 65 years of age are among the people to whom the regional health service provides, upon voluntary request, the free vaccine, considering them a higher risk category.

Rossi, however, removes some pebbles from his shoe: «What does bookable mean? From when will they really be available? ». Family doctors are under “accusation” because 80 percent of them have joined the vaccination campaign, the remaining 20 percent do not and therefore will not administer the vaccine to their patients: so they must go to one of the vaccination centers opened by Ats, including the one at the Baggio military hospital.

The president of the Milanese doctors denies a “disorganization” paid by the doctors themselves, because patients complain about them: “It seems that it is our fault that we do not want to vaccinate them.” In recent weeks, the Lombardy Region reported that of 2,095 general practitioners from the metropolitan city of Milan Ats, 1,671 had joined the seasonal flu vaccination campaign.
