LULA. Two and a half years after the disappearance, the remains of the German tourist who disappeared in Montalbo di Lula were found during an excursion. Yesterday morning, an assistant chief of the Forest and Environmental Oversight Corps found the remains of a human skeleton in Montalbo di Lula. He immediately reported this to the Nuoro Forest and Environmental Oversight Corps Operations Room, which ordered the patrol of the Lula Forest Station to be dispatched, also alerting the station’s carabinieri. Once there, with the support of the Bitti company military, the investigators managed to establish that the human remains belonged to Mrs. Renate Erna Zellinger, a German citizen, who died on October 16, 2017 and presumably died as result of an accidental fall during an excursion. Identification was facilitated by the discovery of the victim’s backpack containing personal items. The competent authority has authorized the recovery of the remains, for the return to the relatives.
