But yesterday the positive record was registered in Rome: 141 cases of coronavirus in one day. In Milan, on the other hand, there were 47 cases, about a third. And so, Lazio was the worst affected region in Italy, more than Lombardy (+182), Veneto (+119) and Emilia Romagna (+56).

«These are figures that do not allow us to lower our guard, as we have been saying for days. There is a recovery, although in a completely different panorama: now asymptomatic people and family conglomerates prevail ”, he explains today to Republic of Rome the regional councilor for Health Alessio D’Amato. The fear is that there will be a collapse in the hospitals, but D’Amato assures: “At the moment we do not have situations of suffering in the network.” But intensive care begins to fill up. «The virus has no mercy on the most vulnerable, especially the elderly. We observe an increase in intensive care mainly due to the increase in the average age of patients and concomitant pathologies, especially in the elderly ”, reports Francesco Vaia, Spallanzani’s health director.

The alarm in schools and the risk of red zones

Il Messaggero predicts the possibility of opening new red areas even only in buildings where the circulation of the virus is wider. The Region could also think about the obligation to wear masks even outdoors like in Paris. The affected areas would be somewhat stable in Rome and the South Pontine.
